firefox display problem

help! I got some firefox display issues.

my little brother was on earlier firefox and somehow changed the browser so that only the left half of the screen is visible. there is no scrollbar, only html saying something like "!docrtype html public"-//IETF . . . etc." I did a system restore, but to no avail. I'm sure there is an easy answer, but my google-fu is lacking at the moment. thanks in advance for any help.

Do a search on deleting your firefox profile.

Instructions here. And if I were you, I would only ever reach for System Restore once you've exhausted every other reasonable possibility and it's the only thing left apart from a nuke and pave. Over the years, I've seen System Restore act more like System Root Completely in about 75% of cases.

This just happened to me too. I had to uninstall some of the extensions like forecastfox and the Abe Vigoda checker. I restarted and firefox ran fine. I'd guess it was an extension. You'll find them under "tools".
