Question: Online gift certificates (France)

I want to send my sister in France an online gift certificate. She has just moved into her new country home there. What sites (useful in FRANCE) would easily redeem the certificate and would also be interesting, ecclectic, fun -- and would give her the best value?

I sent her a certificate years ago (amazon) and I don't think she really got what she wanted, since amazon limited what it could send in her area. Perhaps things have changed now; I'd just like to hear from people in Europe/France about their experiences redeeming online certificates.

sorry, I'm not in europe or france anymore, but when I was nannying there my family sent me a money transfer as a gift so I could go on a wine tour. It was a fabulous gift because it was something I probably wouldn't have splurged on myself but am so glad I got to experience while I was there.

What about an amazon.fr gift certificate? It's not particularly eclectic, but it would be useful: Amazon.fr seems to have a fairly wide selection of things (books, dvds, electronics, etc) and their prices and selection are probably better than FNAC's.

I second lumiere's adavice. Get a certificate from amazon.fr rather than amazon.com. The choice will be much bigger.

Kadéos seems also fitting (I'm french, btw). It works for a host of store, including the Fnac (France's offline Amazon, sort of) or Printemps and other big places. Wide range of choices then for her.

My American friend who has lived in France for 16 years laments the lack of mail order business in France. They don't really do catalogs and the like, as we do.

She often orders things from British sites if she can't find them in France, due to the shipping being easier and cheaper.

Amazon.fr is definitely something she depends on as of late.

Bon chance.

I've found Kadéos pretty much the most useful, thus concur with XiBe.
