Question: Places to stay in Killington?

Does anyone have any recommendations for places to stay in Killington (VT) in January? I'm looking for house for a large group (20-25 ppl) for a ski retreat weekend. I've been looking online, but I'm not too sure where to start looking and a lot of the places I have found seem to be booked.

Ideally, the house/cabin would have:
Under $2000 for the weekend (we're all students), 6+ bedrooms, easy/quick mountain access, hot tub, any other decent house activities would be great.

I don't have any specific recommendations, but have you tried craigslist? Also, I found this but with that many people it might be difficult. Have fun!!

Or, alternatively - why not get a hotel and book a bunch of rooms? It might be less expensive (maybe not, I dunno) and you'd have access to all the hotel amenities - hot tub, pool, fitness room and any other fun stuff they may offer. Plus, you don't have to clean up after yourself!! Try finding a place that has a kitchen so that you can save money by doing your own cooking.

Give local real estate agencies a shot - there are TONS of houses/ski chalets/condos in the Killington area that are rented for exactly this purpose, and they'll be the ones who will know that kind of transaction best. Killington is an area that's absolutely lousy with tourists, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding lodging. Also, try expanding your search to nearby towns - Mendon is very close (and is the town that sister mountain Pico is in, also), Rutland is 20-30 minutes away, as is Woodstock and Bridgewater. Having a drive away from the mountain will cut down on your apres ski time in Killington proper (which, I have to admit, has an excellent nightlife!), but it can really cut down on your costs. Especially if you'll be with that many people - you guys ARE the party, really, so you might not need a bar as much as other people who travel in small groups.

Have a fantastic time - I grew up in Killington and really, really miss it! Oh, and ski Bear Mountain for me - it's got some incredibly diverse skiing, especially if you like moguls, but get over there in the morning - it gets really busy as the day wears on.

Have fun!!!

Yeah what you may want to do is go get some big rooms in the Best Western on Route 4. I've had family stay there [I live about 15 miles away from Killington] and they have these nice suites that sleep 4-6 people, have kitchens, good parknig and strong wifi and are likely NOT booked solid in January. No hot tub, but if you're in a jam it beats a lot of other places. Mendon and Rutland are both good options and really close by.

I know people who have used VermontProperty.com, and you might also want to try the classifieds at the Rutland Herald though they look pretty spare right now, and also the Mountain Times.
