Web-based OCR or bar code reading software?

I'm looking for a script or application that I can run on a website that will scan an image for text (OCR) or bar codes. Know of any? Should be open source, freeware, or shareware.

JOCR

I haven't tried this yet, but from what I understand you can run it from the command line, so you should be able to call it from any script that has that access (like the system function in php).

SimpleOCR may be worth a try.
