Can't access any secure sites!

Firefox keeps telling me "Error establishing an encrypted connection. Error code: -5990".

It started happening today, but it didn't coincide with me changing anything, as far as I can remember.

It means I can't access any secure (https) sites.

Anyone know what it means and how to fix it?

Please help! I can't access my gmail!

Is this gmail-specific or are you unable to access any secure site? On the other hand, is it happening at you home computer or somewhere else (work, library, dorm)? Maybe someone changed the firewall settings and blocked the HTTPS port by mistake.
