Macbook Pro repair options

So the superdrive on my Macbook Pro is having the same problem as a lot of people on Apple's discussion website - it is spitting out most DVDs. I am outside the 90 day support period so I can't call them to tell me what to do but inside the warranty period, and an Apple Store is too far from me. What can I do about repairs?

If it is a hardware issue, then you are covered under the one year warranty and can call AppleCare for support.

The 90 days is just for general queries. If you suspect there's something wrong with the computer you can still call them for as long as you have a warranty.

Apple Stores aren't the only places you can take your Mac to be fixed; just take it to a third-party store certified by Apple to do support and repair work.

You're covered with a 12 month hardware warranty. Phone them and don't take no for an answer.

Response by poster: Just called them up. After telling them that I didn't want to pay 50 bucks for one time troubleshooting and 350 for extended plan, the support guy actually went through some troubleshooting steps with me. When nothing worked, he put in a repair order for me.
Thanks everyone :)
