Are their any good virtual diaries / organizers for XP?

Does anybody know of a good application for XP that acts as a diary / scheduler.

For example, something that would pop-up on your screen to remind you of an appointment or task-to-do?

It would be great if the recommended app was PDA
compatible.

Outlook does this with the Calendar function, and most PDAs will synch with Outlook.

I second Outlook. There are few other XP applications that can so fluidly sync with PDA's. I use Thunderbird/etc for personal use, but Outlook blows them out of the water if you have the resources to run them (Outlook commonly eats 150mb of ram for me).

Outlook works for me, for the past 10 years and about 6 different palms. I synch my PDA to both my laptop and home PC for redundant backup, and I'm a Getting Things Done (GTD) fan. I even bought the GTD Outlook plugin to make dealing w/ the Inbox easier.

I use Outlook as well, but you might want to check out DayNotez.

I use Outlook with the Franklin Covey add on, PlanPlus.

I just use the Journal built into Outlook, which for some reason is kinda hidden.

I use EssentialPIM and really love it. There is a completely free version, but the full "pro" version is only $30. There's also an optional PPC sync upgrade as well. I highly recommend it if you're not entrenched in Outlook already.

I switched from Outlook to Thunderbird for email and such quite some time ago. It's just my preference for email. But it's calendaring abilities are nonexistent and I don't care for the other Mozilla calendaring options as they are currently.
