Difference in US/UK propane tanks?

Do US and UK propane tanks have the same size valve/nozzle-thing?

I'm planning to fry a turkey this christmas in the uk. However i live in the states and i want to buy most of my equipment over here. If I buy a US propane burner and take it to England, will it attach to a UK propane tank?

Note: U.K. and U.S. 'POL' connections on Propane cylinders are different, the U.S. version being slightly smaller in overall diameter, and usually with a much smaller AF nut form. Whilst a U.S. 'POL' regulator will connect on to a U.K. 'POL' cylinder, it is not satisfactory and bad practice, but it is physically impossible to get a U.K. 'POL' regulator into a U.S. 'POL' cylinder hence the advice in paragraph 2.2.3.

Posted instead of preview: As I was about to say any decent propane shop should be able to make you an adapter in the UK as long as you have a hose that connects to your fryer whose free end is pipe thread (because US and UK pipe thread are the same). You can get that hose in the US before you leave.

A good overview of your options, as well as instructions on how to make your own adaptor, can be found here.
