Help me track down a band..

A few years back I found an MP3 for a song called "I am a Liverpudlian" by a band from New Zealand or Australia. Then I lost it. What was the band's name?

The song had (what I consider to be) the catchy chorus (stay with me here) of "I am a Liverpudlian, Liver- Liver- Liver- Liver-pudlian", sung all fast-like. If I remember correctly the band was four or five people, one of them with an accordion, maybe.

I even went so far as to send them a check for their CD, but being an idiot I sent it in U.S. dollars. So no CD for me, and now no song. I've done the requisite searches on Google and Yahoo etc., but I'm obviously not thinking of the right keywords.

Best answer: The song you're thinking of is "Liverpuddlian", by Melbourne-based gypsy-bluegrass band The Blue Grassy Knoll. It's from an album called Thomas Murphy's Stag Party. I know this because I have it, and if you put your email address is your profile, DoubtingThomas, you can have it too!

(I agree, it's a great song; it's also the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the band's talents. They used to tour the world with old prints of Buster Keaton films, and play an original sountrack to them. Marvellous. I don't know what they're up to these days, though, and they don't seem to have a website any more.)

[Not to be confused with Scouser Tommy as sung by Liverpool FC fans.]
