I love Thanksgiving turkey... it's the only time in Los Angeles that you see natural breasts.

Suggestions on places to eat-out on Thanksgiving in Los Angeles.
So, plans the have changed last-minute. No big gathering for Thanksgiving... just a quiet weekend with the ladyfriend.
Any suggestions on a last minute dinner reservation in LA for Thanksgiving? Something actually possible to snag. Nicer the better.

Most of the really nice restaurants in LA are doing Thanksgiving menus. I was looking at the Melisse one and drooling. Try going onto opentable.com and searching whichever LA region you live in/don't mind driving to, and it will return a list of restaurants with reservations available around the time you request. Also, directly call anywhere you are particularly keen to go to, they may be able to squeeze in a party of 2. I recomend Melisse, Josie and Lucques off the top of my head.
Ooh, Opentable says Melisse has reservations available on Thursday!

Oops, sorry -- I missed your "the nicer the better" comment.

this is our first year eating out. McCormick and Schmick in Pasadena is having turkey-with and their regular seafood menu; it's a nice room, good cocktails.

Last year my girlfriend and I had no Thanksgiving plans, and we and a friend randomly ended up in Hollywood. We stopped in to Chianti on Melrose (no shopper swarms on because of the holiday). We were practically the only ones in the restaurant and so the staff was very attentive. And the food and atmosphere are plenty nice. Probably a lot of similar options in LA, what with the number of restaurants. Echoing hifiparasol, having spent Thanksgiving at Canter's in the past, I would not recommend it to you.

too late to be helpful for this year, but i went to Lawry's in Beverly Hills with my family on Thanksgiving this year. In addition to the prime rib, they were also serving turkey with mashed potatoes.
