I did. The only thing a Canadian can do for me is buy my records and shine my shoes.

Sorry. I thought that everyone felt that Martin Luther King Jr. was THE Dr. King.

Best answer: Two books come to mind:
- The Day Martin Luther King, Jr., Was Shot, on the civil rights movement. This photo essay, written for grades 3-6, is endorsed by The King Center.
- The appallingly titled Martin's Big Words (focusing on King's quotations), for grades preK-4.

I'll second Martin's Big Words. The illustrations are gorgeous.

You should also check out this book I forget the name of, but it was basically modern day school kids letters to Dr. King. My mom made my brother and I write letters, and I thought it was hokey, cause I've always been a cynic, and thought Martin Luther King has been incredibly overemphasized.
