My family and I want to stay in Big Bear, CA for a couple of nights this winter (to ski). While I'm willing to sleep pretty much anywhere, others are not. What's the nicest hotel up there?

Thanks.

This is the nicest accomodation that possibly could be. I hope it is has finally reopened.

My kids and I (and our cat) stayed there two years ago over Thanksgiving, and found ourselves cooking and eating a massive Thanksgiving dinner with the hippie resort employees who were then in residence. Fascinating friendly people, faultlessly clean, and of course quiet early because everybody has to get up in the morning.

Yes, this probably isn't what you had in mind. But it was great.
