Is my new Mac Mini broken?

I just bought a new Core Duo 1.83GHz Mac mini today from Microcenter. I had the store install an extra 1 gig of RAM.

I'm loving the new machine, but the fan hasn't stopped blowing since I've plugged it in. Is my mini defective?

How likely is it that something like this happened?

Can't you just open it and look? I'm not familiar with the mini but my macbook came with a manual on how to install ram. If yours did, too, just open it and see if the wire is unplugged.

I don't mean to be too obtuse, but you know that your new Mac Mini came with 90 days of call-in AppleCare -- have you thought to call them?

I was avoiding opening the thing b/c opening requires two putty knives, which I don't have.

At dobb's urging I opened thing (with a 2 butter knives) and sure enough the sensor was disconnected.

Damn that thing is tiny and hard to get back in!

bit late now but mac minis aren't supposed to be opened by consumers. (the manual doesn't say how to install RAM because you're not supposed to do it.) if you didn't scar up the case, it shouldn't matter too much though.
