How can I see who sees me (on AIM)?

Is there a way for me to see who has me on their buddy list on AIM?

Just curious if there's a program or something in any IM program that supports AIM (I use Trillian Basic, fwiw) that will allow me to see who has added me to their buddy list. Thanks.

Well, according to the OSCAR protocol (that's the protocol AIM uses), there is a message for something sort of like this.

That page seems to indicate that this feature doesn't actually work, which is consistent with the fact that I've never seen a client expose this to the UI.

The closest you'll come is the Psychic Mode plugin for GAIM that opens an IM window when the first sends a typing notification. Short answer: no.

I remember a website where you can register and it would show you which buddy lists you were on of other people who registered on that site. I forgot what the address is though.

BuddyTree did what you want, but the two registration bots appear to be dead and there's a "we're not updating" sign on the front page. Might be worth keeping an eye on, or searching for with "like" next to "buddytree."
