Swallow this!

MusicFilter: I'm trying to find an old hardcore techno song that used a sample of the old woman in Evil Dead screaming "I'll swallow your sooooooul!!"

I heard it around '99 or '00. Nothing else remarkable about it, really. Just your normal sinister, four-to-the-floor terrorcore song. Any ideas?

Outside of Skinny Puppy's "Who's Laughing Now?" I can't remember anybody else sampling Evil Dead 2. Once upon a time, there was an excellent samples database for industrial music that had movie clips in it.

The only other song I can think of that samples Evil Dead 2 is Colourbox's "Hot Doggie." It's findable on the 4AD comp Lonely is an Eyesore.

Response by poster: I found "Hot Doggie" which, while not the song I'm looking for, was disturbingly enjoyable.
I'm trying to hunt down the Radium track--or at least a sample of it--without much luck.

Not familiar with the Evil Dead, or the origin of the particular sample, but you're not thinking of Aphex Twin's "Come To Daddy" are you?

Response by poster: Ah, no Chunder. See, in "Come to Daddy" Richard wants to eat your soul, but not swallow it. ;)

It is very possible that it was a white label that never got commercially released. This would have kept it from being placed on major label CD releases meaning you'd have only heard it at live shows or on small distrobution, self made mixes.

Is this it?

Response by poster: No that's not it, jaded, but that's an awesome Evil Dead medley nonetheless. :)

The song I'm trying to find is a lot darker, with aggro hardcore techno/gabber beats. And iirc the old woman was the only sample used in the song, Evil Dead-related or otherwise.

I'll dig out the MP3 when I shouldn't be working, but this is what it sounds like.

Brooklyn Bounce sampled Evil Dead in "Canda!", and one or two other songs (I believe). Will check my mp3s after work.

killjoy: well thank you very much. I assembled it.

Was it a psytrance track? one of my old psychedelic trance cds definitely has this sample on it.

some people might describe psytrance as hardcore, and the date is about right, so that's why I ask.

Response by poster: fishfucker: I don't think I've heard much from the psytrance genre aside from Infected Mushroom. Do you know what cd you heard the sample on? And what artist it was?

now i'm piste: I'm not going to get my hopes up yet but that track sounds very familiar--and I do recall listening to Omar Santanna back then... *rubs hands eagerly*

Unfortunately the CD is buried in my closet in Sacramento, and I won't be there until tuesday ... but I'll look when I get home.

Response by poster: So I found Necronomicon and I don't think that's it. (There's the old woman sample in the song?)
Any other takers?
