Group games with walkie-talkies?

I'm looking for a fun game to play at night with a small group of people and walkie-talkies.

I'll be with a group of eight people in a dark part of the US, and am looking for a fun group game to play involving running around and walkie-talkies.

The location will be in a small town, and the time this would take place would be sometime between 8-midnight. There are plenty of open spaces away from neighborhoods, so I don't think noise would be too much of a concern. I've got enough walkie-talkies for everyone, and the radios can be set to one of several channels.

I won't be able to scout out the location very well ahead of time. Can anyone suggest a game we could play with these considerations in mind? In the past, I've organized team hunts/assassination games and scavenger hunts, but these involved more people and familiar locations.

Thanks! Oh! And one of us will have a dog.

Whatever you do, let the police know first. Even small towns seem to be overly paranoid about terrahrists, and it won't be a great game if y'all get shot.

Capture the Flag was always a nighttime neighborhood favorite when I was growing up.

I should mention that we generally played with 6-12 kids, over an area that comprised roughly 10 acres, including houses, woods and a creek. Occasionally, crappy walkie-talkies were employed to coordinate defense and sneak attacks. LOADS of fun.

You could arrange a scavenger hunt in which you pair kids off and they collect SOUNDS to transmit to the others. Or you could make the others guess where the team is based on the sounds they collect.

Sweetkid: Not in the cities.

I used to organize big games of cops and robbers in my home town (Falls Church, VA). People freaked out, the cops got upset, even when we notified them ahead of time. Please, notifiy the police way ahead of time, but don't ask their permission. "Just FYI, we're playing tag, mmmkay?"
