Can you recommend a bank or credit union for a new business account?

We are opening a new business in Southern California and need to open a business account for the financial needs.

Is there a bank or credit union that you recommend, especially for small businesses?

I recommend Union Bank of California, which has very good business services and you won't get bogged down in fees like Wells Fargo or BofA.

If you can find a credit union that you are able to enter, see if they have a dedicated business service that can work with your needs, as most do not.

You might consider contacting your local SBA office and getting some advice about small business friendly banks with local (to SoCal) branches.

Be sure to approach at least three banks, as it helps to know the difference in costs that will come with the opening and maintenance of your account.
