Stuck in the Middle With This Gorram Song

Name-a-songFilter - what's playing in the Stranger than Fiction trailer?

In alternate versions of the trailer, you hear ELO's "Dont Bring Me Down" or The Pretenders' "Stop Your Sobbing" at the end of the trailer, but what I'm interested in is the lively piano music at the beginning of the trailer, up to the point where Tony Hale (!!!) shows up. Is it generic trailer music of can I get it commercially and pound it into submission until it's no longer in my head?

I don't know what the song is but it's pretty common to use music in the trailer which will not show up anywhere in the movie including music written for other movies.

Best answer: It sounds very much like the piano in "The Way We Get By" by Spoon, off of "Kill The Moonlight" (you can listen to a clip on Amazon). And as Yeti said, Britt Daniel (of Spoon) scored the film, so it's not surprising.

Great song, great album, and great band.

Best answer: It is definitely the piano from "The Way We Get By."

Response by poster: backwards guitar, hazelshade: Yeah it is! Thanks...I knew I loved it for a reason...I have Gimme Fiction but had never listened to Kill the Moonlight - now it's on my list of musts.
