Has the Apple Records logo ever been used prominently on the outside of an album cover? (I'm specifically interested in LPs -- it cannot be a CD or DVD cover.)

I'm working on an exhibition about Magritte and contemporary art, and among the ephemera we're including a small selection of album covers that reference Magritte paintings. The Apple logo, of course, comes from Magritte's recurring apple motif (and obviously appears on the inside label of Apple LPs). But an actual album cover would be handier to display, if such a thing exists.

There are a scant few that had the Apple logo up in the corner of the album art. Mostly British releases. None that I know of that featured the logo front-and-center, though.
This page looks to be a pretty concise catalog of Apple albums. Have a look and see what you can find.

Response by poster: Hmm, those appear like they're newly released collectible CDs...? What I'm looking for is a 12" LP (vinyl) cover in which the Apple logo was part of the original album artwork at the time of release in the '60s or '70s. (And it doesn't necessarily have to be a Beatles record, since plenty of other folks recorded for Apple.)

Response by poster: d'oh! I posted my response to hydrophonic right as Thorzdad was posting. That looks like a great place to look -- thanks!

Apple E.P., which looks VERY rare and expensive BTW. This site has a photo gallery of all Apple releases. A few European 7" singles had a small Apple logo in the upper left corner, and some had cut-outs of the Apple logo.

I meant the apples held by the Apple Bonkers. It's the same cover art on the record.
Besides the Bonkers, Magritte's apple makes another appearance in the film, along with the pipe.

Best answer: Badfinger's "Magic Christian Music" (available from GEMM for $12) has magritte-inspired cover art, and a floating apple on the back cover. (Mirror)

Response by poster: Thanks, everyone. Fishfucker (how I love typing your name), thanks especially for the Badfinger suggestion -- I'd completely spaced about that album! That one may be the best fit. I'll run it by the curator to see if she agrees that we should include it.

You should add 45s, if you havent already - the jackets used the apple quite a bit.
