IDM in SF?

Where can I hear IDM in San Francisco?
Clubs, bars, live or dj'ed. Quality minimal house is ok too, l'uomo, swayzak, etc. Thanks.

as much as I like the DNA and the crew at nights like MEAT, I should point out:
industrial / ebm != IDM
deep house != quality minimal house
Mezzanine might be closer to what the poster is looking for. Though they aren't all-IDM, all-the-time, either, their rotation tends to be a little more diverse than the DNA's.

Check out The Guardian's club listings. The ads will list what types of music various DJs are playing throughout the week. I distinctly remember seeing IDM listings occasionally.

Best answer: Mezzanine usually does some good IDMish shows. If you want real underground, look for shows at the Drum Machine Museum (you used to need to reserve in advance -- they were in mickey's studio, which was pretty small -- think they might be booking other shows now), the SF Spaz warehouse (and possibly the berkeley one), Otherworld (Emeryville/Oakland) and occasionally, Tenderloft. TigerBeat6/Kid606 does a regular sort of thing at Mighty called "Let's Lazer Tag Sometime"
There's tons of other spots that have IDM folks doing one-offs and whatnot. Don't know if my friend Scot is still doing shows at 7hz (supposedly they stopped), but that's another good start.
Once you go to one experimental/idm party somewhere, you'll get flyers for all the rest. Please note that the IDM scene in SF is mostly (or was a few years ago) aligned with a lot of hardcore, breakcore, etc stuff.
Also, some people, being music nerds, still take offense at the term idm and will call their music something else.

(the mezzanine shows are usually for more established artists, i should say -- the places i've listed are usually more locals, with whatever "headliners" people can drag out there).

Best answer: Tomorrow night the n5md guys are doing a little show at Madrone (a small-ish bar at fell & divis). info.
If that doesn't turn your crank and you want more abstract experimental stuff, Matmos is playing at the Great American Music Hall the same night. :D
Blasthaus promotes a fairly wide variety of electronic music, including IDM (with an emphasis on the D).
My primary source for info is upcoming.org; I've "friended" a few people who go to or promote good shows and they come up in my friends' concert feeds, and stick my friends-upcoming-events in my RSS Aggregator. If you'd like to add me, here I am; I try to mark interesting shows as "attend" or "watch" always. I miss some stuff (I only found out about the Proem thing by going to an LX Paterson DJ set, but that's fine). I also periodically check the various musicans' and their labels' web sites.
