What's the best way to mount an LCD monitor to my wall?

I'm looking for an inexpensive (20 bucks at the most) way to mount an LCD monitor onto my wall. I'm buying a new 21 incher soon and I want to set my 17 up near my bed so I can watch movies and stuff. (My bed is right in the corner of my room).

Anyone have any fancy suggestions?

Thanks!

figure out what VESA mounting spec your 17 inch is. Buy the bracket that will fit, mount bracket to wall, mount monitor to bracket. May cost more than $20, but will be the best solution.

My flat-panel had two keyhole-shaped holes on the back for hanging it on a wall, and I just used some plastic anchor screws (50 for $2.00 or so) in the drywall. Took 3 minutes and cost less than a dime.

Hm. On my LCD, the base folds back and up, and the facing has two screw head slots for wall mounting. Check to make sure yours doesn't have that before spending too much on 3rd party mounts.

Go to target.com (yes, the bullseye store) and search for "swivel mount". They have a few to choose from in the $20 range.

Unless you've precomposed and tested your viewing angle from the average position for half an hour or more I'd suggest an articulated mount so you have some adjustment capabilities after installation.

I'd use crash's solution only if you don't mind your new flat screen TV smashing to bits on the floor when the 4 cent screws/anchors give way.

Spend a little more than $20, get a real mount.

Or at the very least, spend a couple bucks on serious anchors, like butterfly anchors or even drill all the way through the wall and use nuts and washers on the other side. I only do this for a smaller LCD monitor though. For a larger TV, just get the mount.

Ikea now has a flat panel monitor arm for cheap: observator (for some reason it is only $19 in Canada, but not on the Canadian website).

Properly installed drywall anchors are completely reliable, as long as your load is within spec - you can hang almost anything with wall anchors. However, the thing that really takes intermod's statement over the top, whatever "real mount" you might get will itself be anchored to drywall with the same 4 cent screws/anchors.

There was a recent related question (where I messed up the asker a little, sorry onshi): Bolt-down monitor arms? In Toronto?
