A bunch of us would like to do some sort of East Coast Trip for a friend's 30th BDay.. any suggestions for something neat/fun? of course there is

For my 30th, I rented an entire B&B, told everyone there were rooms for them to crash in, and basically drank until I felt 21 again :-) It was a great time as all I really wanted to do was spend time with my friends... now another friend of mine is going to be celebrating her 30th, and a few of us have decided that we'd like to do something for her, as she's always been a good friend to all of us.
It would be in late Jan or early Feb, which means cold in the Northeast. Personally I'd like warm climate, and since she lives in Cananda, it'd be nice to go somewhere warm.
We'd like to keep it on the East Coast (or at least EST) as most of us live in that zone, and things like a weekend trip to Vegas or Sonoma would kill a day traveling back. We would have around 12 people traveling. Any Ideas?

Hike part of the Appalachian trail, or go to the shore in a southern state - one of the Carolinas maybe. The ocean is lovely off-season, lotsa peace and quiet. Charleston, SC is said to be a beautiful city.

Charleston's really lovely, indeed. There's also Jekyll Island, off the coast of Georgia. It's nice (or it was when I was a brat) and off-season, it's a bit warmer than the Carolinas.

Key West! Lots of cheap houses to rent for group weekends. So fun. Duval street is the perfect place to feel 21 again. Pretty drive down the keys. Or you could even do Key Largo which is 1.25 hours from Miami, or Marathon (mid-way), about 2/2.5 hours from Miami.
