Gatefold vrs. barn door fold?

I'm having trouble getting information on different types of folds for publications. I don't know where to look other than google or wikipedia and neither are really yeilding any results.

So could someone define these folds for me?

Here's a good list of the most common types of brochure folds with brief descriptions. Nothing on the "barn-door" fold though. I would suspect that it's similar to the gatefold except without the fold on the outer face.

Here's a start on print-production terms:

They also compare barn-door and gate folds in one of their articles:

Response by poster: caitlinb, I saw the newsletter page, but it was hard for me to really imagine without a visual.

This was the first link that came up for gatefold on google, complete with visual. It is a PDF.

I don't know what you're designing, but gatefolds can't be done by as many printers as others, takes a special piece of machinery.
