Cursed Netgear Software Substitute - Does it exist for Windows 2000?

I've yet to encounter a more annoying piece of software than the Netgear "SMART WIZARD" - won't start at boot, frequent dropouts with WPA-PSK, all round irritation. Card is a WG311v3.

I'm wondering do any of you good Metafilterers know of a generic wireless network app for Win 2K - like the WZC Software you get with Windows XP? Free, if possible!

I'd be willing to bet it's your card that's the root problem, not your software. I had all kinds of problems with that card, but switching to a better one solved them all.
