Diet recommendation for fasting?

So I started fasting on Saturday for a full month. This would mean that I won't eat or drink anything from sunrise to sunset.
Any specific recommendations to what I should eat before sunrise and when I break my fast? I am wondering if I would be ok just to have milk and fruits and some protein shake in the morning, with a regular white meat dish and salad in the evening.

You got it right. A protein shake with 2% milk would be ideal in the morning. Milk digests slowly and will supply your body with a steady stream of amino acids for several hours. The evening meal sounds sensible too.

You want protein and complex carbs with lots of fiber; probably you'll need a more substansial brekkie than milk and fruit. Try some tasty google, too.

(not that milk and fruit are bad, but have a little cereal in there, too.)

In Morrocco they eat Harira to break fast during Ramadan. In Tunisia they eat Chorba during the same time. Either would be a good bete.

That's fasting for wooses. Fasting, IMO, means H20 is allowed.

For an observant Muslim in good health and with no strenous activities/exams/breastfeeding planned, water is not allowed. Protein shake is quick, easy and like most people very early in the morning, I can't stomach cooked food.
