Are there any great online tools for working on writing a novel? I've seen previous posts on desktop software for this purpose, but I haven't found any nifty online tools. I want to be able to keep the text of one of my writing projects online so I can access it & work on it anywhere with an internet connection. I also do not want it to be public.

I know I can use things like Yahoo! Notepad or make private LJ posts, but I am hoping that there is some tool more appropriate for what I want to do.

I'll third Writely. I haven't tried to make a printed document from anything that started there, but as an online word processor, it's very nice.

The problem with Writerly is that the maximum document size is 500k. I tried uploading one of my files before and it choked on the size.

I like writeboard for its simplicity - when I'm really writing I don't want to care bout styles or complex formatting. I know nothing about a max document size, which obviously could become an issue - might worth email 37 signals, Jason Fried is really pretty good about quick responses.
