Putting text on pictures on a mac?

How do I add text to a photo on a mac?

iPhoto is all I need for my photographs. But I'd like to add text to certain photos (actually on the photos) for a website. What's the easiest program I can use to do this? The gimp, photoshop elements, etc are way more than I need.

If the program is free that's even better. Thanks.

GraphicConverter is free. Download it from MacUpdate.com or VersionTracker.com

ImageMagick, which you can get via fink, can do this as well.

free, and is a command line tool. great for scripts.

ImageWell or Seashore would probably do the trick. Both are free.

There's a Mac version of GIMP too that'll probably do the trick.
