Question: Cupcakes in New York.

I'd like to have cupcakes delivered to someone in New York City, I'm in Chicago.

I want to send cupcakes to a recruiter that I worked with in New York who was super-friendly and great and put in a lot of work for me. I took a job with another company though in Chicago, outside of her realm, so she has lost my business. I want to send her some cupcakes as a thank you for the work she did for me.

Any suggestions for bakeries in the city that will deliver her up some cupcakes, maybe even with a small thank you note?

Also, if this idea sounds ridiculous, I suppose you can say so. I think it'd be a pleasent and fun unexpected surprise in the middle of a workday. Either way, your help as always would be appreciated.

I had cupcakes delivered to someone in Brooklyn a couple months ago thanks to finding a bakery on All Cupcakes, All the Time

I used the Little Cupcake Bakery. They had a minimum order for delivery, but they did it - after hours even.

Sugar Sweet Sunshine delivers within Manhattan. The website looks like they're up for custom work (and they must get less business than big names like Magnolia), so you'd probably have a pretty good shot at including a thank-you note.

Seconding Sugar Sweet Sunshine, they are really nice about same-day deliveries unlike some places (Magnolia requires 48 hour notice... what?). Plus their cupcakes are less dry. My favorite cupcake place, taking SSS's spot, is Tonnie's.
They deliver and I highly recommend the Death By Chocolate.

Good -n- Plenty to Go on West 43rd Street. Up until a couple months ago I lived right down the street, and it was like running a gauntlet getting home. Honestly the best cupcakes I've ever had, and I'm not ordinarily a sweet tooth.

Phone number and delivery hours can be found here.
