How do I get rid of an unpleasant leather smell on a bag bought in Morocco? I think the leather is either poorly tanned or newly made so it has a really strong animal smell.

This has been suggested for removing bad smells from leather before. It might help you, too.

Can't help with getting rid of the smell, but I will offer a story... A friend of mine bought a leather in Italy, and we noticed it had a VERY cow-like scent. Eventually (several months), it toned down to the smell of leather we were used to. So I suppose the answer is "wait".
