"Recommend This Post" Blog App Integration.

How would I go about integrating the "Recommended this post" feature that I see at the bottom of Londonist, Gothamist and Wooster Collective posts (all Typepad blogs) into my wordpress blog?

Is this a moveable type only feature or is it a common application that can be replicated? I can't find any info on google about the application they are using.

Londist usies this script, http://www.londonist.com/labs/components/favorites.js to call a php page, which (I'm guessing) loads and stores recommends to a simple database (or possibly even to a PHP static value). It then uses so simple ajax (basically a timer) to regularly update the recommended number.

So if your blog allows adding javascript and PHP pages (or any sort of cgi, doesn't have to be PHP), you can do it.

There are a number of plugins that look like the come close to what you request. Head over to wp-plugins.net and use the word 'vote' to search. Or just click this.
