Disappearing Quick Launch toolbar

Quick Launch toolbar keeps disappearing after several hours without rhyme or reason . Tried "lock toolbar" and that does not prevent this issue. It's a Dell running WinXP SP2. Everything else seems to be unaffected by this annoyance. Can put it back, and the disappearance will repeat after another several hours. Other toolbars unaffected ?

Try this:

1. Back up the System Registry before making any changes.
2. Open the Registry Editor.
3. Navigate to the following Key:

HKEY_Current_User\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer
change the NoSaveSettings value to "0"

4. Next, navigate to:
HKEY_Local_Machine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\policies\explorer
Change this setting also to NoSaveSettings value to "0"

5. Close Regedit and restart the computer

Be sure that the Quick Launch Toolbar is ticked via right click on taskbar | toolbars | checkmark or tick quick launch.
6. Restart the computer a second time

Install Spybot Search & Destroy, and turn on its "Tea Timer" registry protection feature. See if you get a Tea Timer popup right before your quicklaunch bar disappears.
