Help me find a clip-on microphone for my officiant to wear at my wedding.

I'm looking for a reasonably priced small microphone that can be clipped to one's lapel for my officiant to wear at my wedding ceremony. I'd like to spend around $100 if possible. Sound quality just needs to be ok as the ceremony will only last about 20 minutes. I'd like to plug the microphone cord into an amplifier. Thanks!

Do you intend to hire or buy? A/V Rental houses will have radio mic systems in that price range that work better than anything you could buy for the same money.

Wireless mics can make life a lot easier than cabled mics.

What sort of venue is the ceremony being held in?

I agree that renting would likely be best, but if you want to buy, Radio Shack sells one at about $30 that sounds totally fine.

I guess I could rent also..I'll have to check that out. The ceremony is going to be in a small enclosed patio that is about 25" by 10", so the officiant won't have to project very far, but she mentioned that with a microphone she wouldn't have to shout past me and my bride, and could have a more gentle speaking voice. Thanks for the recs!

Rent, rent, rent. $100 ought to get you a stage-quality wireless mic and a small PA to put it through, delivered, set up and tested on the big day and picked up afterwards.

(You didn't mention a PA, so I figure there's already something there, so that just means that the mic alone will cost less to rent.)
