Can I get a skin for my laptop?

I love my Iskin. Is there something like this for my laptop? Slightly

I love my Iskin. I want to get something similar for my laptop. (Dell E1505). I saw the keyboard cover on the iskin page, but I was hoping foir something that will cover the entire surface area, not just the keyboard. Specifically, I would like to avoid the worn areas where my hands hit it when I type.

I realize that something as thick as the iskin material would likely interfere with the opening and closing of the machine, but I'm hoping someone can point me to something similar.

Assuming this doesn't exist, how do you keep your laptop looking new? Is this just a losing battle?

I can't help -- but I think it's a great question and am interested in reading the answers, too.

I have mutant hands that generate acid and dissolve computers.

To protect the handrest area, I use clear static-cling "window decals"...Hammermill makes some, as does Avery, that are meant to be used with inkjet printers to make translucent window decorations. But if you cut them to size and slap them in place, they work just fine. And since they stick using static electricity they don't leave any goo when you remove them.

After a while, they get a little cloudy from your hands rubbing against them, so I replace them once a month or so.

I don't know if it'll fit the dell...

But after I get a new laptop, this will be my next purchase:

A geek friend of mine covered his laptop in gaffer tape for protective purposes.

He liked the color choices, and could make up his own pattern that gave his laptop an individualized look. He explained that he choose gaffer tape because it was thick enough to protect the laptop's finish, and yet removed clean leaving no sticky adhesive residue.
