Offer beers like Abita Golden, please.

Please recommend beers as similar to Abita Golden as possible.

I cannot find Abita Golden locally, and I'd like to try some substitutes. Also, if you happen to know of a good, reputable (i.e., you or someone you know has ordered from them before) place to get Abita Golden online, I'd love to hear about that, too.

Hm... I'm not too familiar with the NC beer scene, though I see that Old Dominion has some distributors there. When I flew through DC a while back, I really, really liked their Dominion Lager, so see if you can pick that up. I'm not sure it's exactly like Abita Golden, but it's definitely of the same style: American craft-beer take on a continental lager.

I assume you've already tried a lot of the German pale lagers; they should be very similar to Abita Golden as well, at least according to the recipe.

Hm... after re-reading the Dominion Lager recipe, I see that it may be darker than what you're looking for. Well... see if you can find their Hard Times lager at an area Hard Times Cafe. Good luck.

Abita Golden is apparently an American all-malt lager. This is a list of other American all-malt lagers as categorized by BeerAdvocate. Maybe you can use that list as a starting point and sample some of the ones you can find locally.

Happy drinking!
