Professional looking index tabs?

I am trying to make index tab dividers for a group of three ring binders I am producing for a training class at my work. I would like to have them look as professional as possible. The image below illustrates how I am creating them now.. and how I would LIKE them to look. (These are for 5.5 x 8.5 size sheets): http://cybis.indirect.com/AskMeta/IndexTabs.jpg Aside from spending a zillion dollar with a professional service bureau, does anyone have any ideas how to achieve good results 'at home'?

You can buy clear return address labels at Office Depot and laser print them, then stick them on the tab. I use them everyday at work and they look pretty professional.

I have also done the 1/2 page tabs before, too. I did the same thing (clear address labels) but put them on some of those copier ready tabs and took the tabs to Kinko's and had them cut. They have a gigantic paper slicer there and charged me $1.00 a slice and it took 1 slice to get through 100 tabs.
