Question: Fabric orders

How i would go about getting fabric (for clothing) straight from the manufacturer, in bulk quantities, rather than having to pay retail prices? I'm in the UK.

If you aren't married to the notion of transacting only with a manufacturer, perhaps the concept of wholesale would be of use? Perhaps you've already looked into it, and I'm wasting your time, but I would imagine it's the best way to purchase in less than ridiiculous quantity. Manufacturers may not want to do business with you directly unless you're planning to buy a lot of material -- enough for a major manufacturing operation.
