Is there a US based text message service that could send me alerts for Arsenal Football Club? I'm looking for in-game updates. My google-fu only turns up UK services.

You can get them from this place, but it ain't cheap. Have you tried Yahoo! Alerts with a Sports category?

Last I checked, Yahoo Alerts only does American MLS soccer. I'd love to get Premier League football updates on my phone too... hope someone has an answer to this one :)

1) Find a way to get alerts to e-mail.

2) Find a way to get e-mails converted into text messages.

Both services exist. You may have to pay for the latter.

I thought that most text messaging services were just email to your phone, just limited in size? I know this (used?) to be the case with Nextel.
It might help if you provide your phone provider.
