The blogger's voice and corporate response

Hi I'm looking for examples of blog / discussion forum controversies with company responses -- threads which were in danger of becoming PR disasters and how a company came in and by responding directly quelled the concerns or at least gained respect... tall order?

Do you have more specifics of what you're looking for? I can definitely provide examples of how good company blogging has stopped an issue from becoming a communications crisis.

The Kryptonite bike lock fiasco is an example of a company responding to a problem and redeeming itself.

Not a blog, but you mean like this?

OWC Larry (of Other World Computing) was a frequent contributor to that forum for a long time, mostly, I think, to prevent PR negativity.

Is this the sort of thing you mean? (I ask because I'm not sure that it is and I'm not sure that it's not)

Kevin Smith did it recently on the rottentomato forums after Clerks 2.

There was a .au company that got some stick from various blogs, and had to mend its reputation a little. bluepulse, I think. Search boingboing for them.

Response by poster: Thanks everyone for your great responses. Forrester mentioned as an example a CEO of some company posting in a forum somewhere to quell a consumer furor that was boiling out of control... for Anildash that's the kind of thing I was looking for.
