A newer, better book out there?

I was going to get a few copies of John A. Brogan's 'Clear Technical Writing' (out of print) for teaching a class at work, but want to ask you all whether there's a better, more recent tech writing primer you can recommend...thanks.

Yeah, I'm dating myself, but Brogan's book was a revelation at the time....

Well, in my Tech Writing class last semester, we used
Technical Communication by Burnett, which focuses on written and verbal rhetoric and The Non-Designer's Design Book, which focuses on visual rhetoric.

And, they're part of a select group of college textbooks I'm NOT selling.... so they come highly recommended.

Oh, and if you're looking for a less textbook-esque book, we used Writing With Clarity and Style in Rhetoric the previous semester. I'm also keeping this one... Amazon seems to want a lot seems to want too much for it, but you might try another discount book retailer.
