Many years ago I saw a serialized German language television play with english subtitles on the life of Moliere. What was it called, and can I purchase a copy of it anywhere?

Don't know about a German language series but I do remember a French production when it was shown on the BBC in the late 70s, especially the final hallucinatory scene of Moliere's death.

Many thanks amestoy. You are right that it was in french instead of english. It was too many years ago for me to remember the language. Your post led me to find that it available on amazon.fr. Am going to try to order it from the amazon.fr site while not being able to read french. Promises to be an adventure.
