Has anyone got experience of using MindManager to produce web sites? posted by HJB123 to computers & internet (4 comments total)
When you say 'produce web sites' do you mean create site maps - the textual or graphical representation of a web site's structure? If so, although such structured thinking isn't its core functionality - it's really about visualising the thought process, it does lend itself to diagramming a website structure very well.
I'm not aware of it having HTML export functionality beyond clickable, Javascript-based, tree structures representing your mind map. I'm afraid I can't check this to be 100% sure as my only copy is on my work PC and I'm typing this from home.
If you want a feature-rich, yet still very usable, web page creator that adheres reasonably consistently to web standards, I would recommend the latest version of Dreamweaver. Having said that, I don't think you can beat getting down and dirty with the HTML and CSS itself... posted by mooders at 12:59 AM on August 6, 2006
Thanks for the response. I mean to create the web site itself. I am aware of the HTML export function but do not like the templates provided. I have seen other sites obviously made using MindManager and I liked the intuitive feel.
Although fairly computerate I have no experience of either dreamweaver or the 'down & dirty' side. As I have a number of other projects on the go at the moment I don't have the time to devote to it. I do use MindManager daily and so hoped for a quick intro to using it for this purpose. posted by HJB123 at 10:17 AM on August 6, 2006
What are the other sites obviously made with MindManager that you like? posted by Good Brain at 12:05 PM on August 6, 2006
Sorry Good Brain I can't remember the sites. I was researching this topic last year via Google and turned up a number of sites. One was a Scottish Educational site. Having since moved and changed hardware the details just got lost somewhere on the way. posted by HJB123 at 12:16 PM on August 6, 2006
