How do I print screen on this notebook?

Notebook computer, windows xp, it has an "Insert" key with "Print Scrn" underneath on the same key. I've tried pressing it alone and in various combinations with the shift, the alt, and ctrl, and nothing happens (that I can tell). Perhaps the screen is being captured and being filed away somewhere without me noticing? Or do I need to set up some sort of key function somewhere? I know I could use another screen capture application, but shouldn't the print screen key work?

That's how mine is set up. You have to go into the MS paint application and then into the edit menu and select paste.

You need to use the "Fn" key with that key. That will "Copy" the screen to the clipboard. You can then "Paste" it into an application like MSPaint or Photoshop.

Bonus Points: ALT-PrintScreen captures just the active window, nit the whole screen.

You'll probably notice that "Print Scrn" is printed on the key in a different color (like blue), and then that the "Fn" key is the same color. Then you'll notice aaaaaaall the other functions on the keyboard printed in the same color, all of which work by using the FN key like a shift key.
