Where can I find extra long twin size flat sheets?

I'm going to be in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University in a few weeks. However, this has caused me problems because on my packing list it specifies "WHITE FLAT SHEETS (twin size, extra long)".

I can not find these anywhere. Walmart and Target don't carry them, and neither does Bed, Bath, and Beyond. In fact, when I asked the sheet section employee at BB&B where to find them, he was under the impression they don't exist at all. He said that the only difference between a set of twin sheets and a set of extra long twin sheets is that the fitted sheets are longer.

Unfortunately, this doesn't help me, since we aren't allowed to use fitted sheets on our beds (we make our beds military style, with a flat sheet for the bottom sheet). The person I got a hold of at A&M said that I could find the sheets at www.laurenslinens.com or www.domesticbin.com, but I couldn't find them anywhere on those sites. Googling has likewise proved unfruitful.

Do these seemingly mythical extra long twin flat sheets exist? Where can I find them? I'm in the Dallas, TX area, if you know of some locally, but I'm also completely willing to order off the internet, so long as the delivery is fairly quick.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

You couldn't find them on laurenslinens.com? I found them right here and here, just for example.

Dorm101.com has them, too. Really, Googling seemed to work for me. It's possible you may not be able to find the flat sheets separately, if that's the problem, but, in that case, you may just have to bite the bullet and buy a couple of sets.

Cerebus19, those are only extra long FITTED sheets. I need extra long flat sheets.

The sets have regular sized flat sheets, and only the fitted sheets are extra long. That's my problem.

Hannah, don't worry. Regular twin sheets fit those beds just fine.

Hmm, the Jersey Knit brand sets do seem to have extra long flat sheets. But for $30 a set, when I need 4 flat sheets and the fitted sheet and pillow cases are useless? That's ridiculous.

K8t, are you sure? I don't see why they would have specified extra long, in that case.

Perhaps regular-sized flat sheets are long enough as bottom sheets for XL beds. I think XL twin beds are 4" longer than regular twin. Play around with a regular twin bed and sheets and see if there's 4" to spare.

If not, you could try buy some appropriate-width white cotton fabric and sew a simple hem on each end.

Lands' End has several options for XL twin flat sheets. Search for "twin XL flat" and you'll see them all.

. . . 'cept it looks like they're out of all non-knit white ones (sorry). I would call them and ask for an in-stock date on these.

Or after more looking (under the Home > Dorm pages) this set would work if you ignore the fitted sheet. Includes white, XL twin, flat. I would order soon as they always manage to sell out of the things I want and don't order immediately.

Not exactly high thread count, but if that doesn't matter, this might work out well for you.

They fit on my dorm bed.

Yes, k8t, but I have to make my bed to military standards with daily inspections, so making regularly length sheets fit probably isn't an option.

theredpen and necessitas--thanks, I'm looking into them. However, I'm afraid that ordering sets isn't really an option for me, since I'm on a college budget and that'll easily put me over $120 for 4 simple sheets.

Hannah, don't worry, the sheets from that link, as you may have discovered by now, are individual and only $12 - 13. You'll only spend about $50 for 4.

Yes, but they have no shipping information that I can find, and their cart seems unable to keep track of my items. Doesn't give me much confidence in them. Still, I might stick out my neck, since the only other options seem to be flannel, and that's going to be killer in a poorly airconditioned dorm room.

Oh! I see what you mean. Maybe calling them and ordering on the phone would be easier.

Linens 'n' Things stocks them, I saw them in the store just the other day.

Yeah, shame it's after business hours...

Perhaps I am cursed?

Nevermind, I see what you're saying about the flat sheet only being twin...sorry.

Okay, I ended up going with shopsatin.com. Thanks necessitas, we'll see how reliable they turn out.
