Help for finding an old Donald Duck comic book

I'm looking for a particular Dell Donald Duck comic book (I don't know the story line, only what the front cover looks like), and no, don't know the issue number, etc. My guess somewhere between 1958 and 1964, but purely a guess. What's the best "source" to try and identify the comic book in question? [description of the front cover, follows]Thanks!

The front cover had a full length Donald Duck that took up most of the front cover, his arms were out to the left (as you're looking at the front cover) and he was holding an alarm clock.

here's a start.
After that, I would see if I could track down Don Rosa's email address, as he used to run a fanzine for Carl Barks' Ducks, which that Dell likely is.

Don Rosa's contact info is
Don Rosa's address: Don Rosa; 9711 Dawson Hill Rd.; Louisville, KY 40299; USA
Email: donrosa@iglou.com
according to a Dutch fansite.

Try the forum at klangklangston's link. Antique sites often have some covers displayed, and there's a bunch at eBay, if you don't mind the effort of checking. This might take a while if you don't find someone with a complete collection.

You can also try one of the comic book scan newsgroups;

Post a message explaining what you're looking for and there's a pretty good chance someone there will be able to figure out which issue you should be seeking. I know there are several regular posters who have large Duck collections.

It's all about knowing where to look. Your first stop for any comic book cover should always be the Grand Comic Book Database. Unfortunately, it seems to be down right now or I'd look it up for you. If I remember right, you can browse individual titles by year, so you should be able to find your cover quickly. When the site comes back up. You will find your answer at this site.

Can't believe I forgot about the GCBD. That should definitely be your first stop.

GCDB is back up. I can't find the cover in question in the Dell Donald Duck gallery. I'll try others.
