Question: My Machine Plays DOS Games Too Speedily -- Can I Slow Them Down?

I saw a thread about DOS games, but I'm wondering - I can play DOS games on my system, but my modern computer's speed makes most games move too fast to be that enjoyable (I'm thinking of the original Oregon Trail, in particular). Is there any way to slow them down, or is this a lost cause?

MoSlo is one of the main utilities for doing this, but Googling for "dos slowdown" turns up this forum thread with a list of similar utilities.

agregoli, I was actually going to post a similar question regarding Ultima VII. I did run across this, but I haven't tried it yet.

And I used to love Oregon Trail! If you have a line on the version with the animated deer I'd love to know about it.

stavrosthewonderchicken, why would you post something that requires people to pay for it before they download the software, if its abandonware?

You can find Oregon Trail and almost every old game if you look.

'cause I obviously didn't look closely at the site in question this morning after a quick googling, Keyser Soze.

Apologies : I assumed that if they called it abandonware, it was being given away. As my young interlocuter mentions, there are a multitude of sources for things like this. The underdogs site linked above is probably the best, but I couldn't remember it when I posted this morning.
