Podcasting to the Masses

Looking to produce a weekly podcast, but I need to start somewhere!
I am looking to put together a weekly podcast with a few friends, kind of an old timey radio broadcast and frankly, have no idea where to start. We have all of the recording equipment but where do I go from there ? I've looked at libsyn which is a really cool idea and seems like a simple way to get started. Any experiences with this service? Inevitably we would like to make a little cash on this, so I don't know if there are better all-in-one services out there or if we should go our-own-hosted-site route.

1. Any experience with all-in-one podcast hosting services?
2. Any advice on simple webhosting services that are optimized for podcasting?
3. Any good advice in general from seasoned podcasters?

I've used Libsyn to host my (very popular) cast for almost two years now, and have been very happy.
That said, if you're looking to make some money eventually, rather than do it as a hobby, I would reccomend hosting the audio files with Libsyn (or a similar service), and using your own domain to host the website RSS feed. You don't want to be in a situation where Libsyn goes under, or changes their terms, or any other thing that might lead you to use another host, and you don't control your RSS feed.
If you're using www.justacoupleofpals.com/rss as your feed, you never need worry that you'll lose a huge portion of your audience by changing feeds, because you'll control your own destiny -- you own the domain for as long as you keep paying the bill.
As far as advice from seasoned podcasters, I'd check out Podcast 411, and the Yahoo! Podcasters group's vast archive.

I don't know from whence you hail, but the Georgia Podcast Network is an example of a site that will host your podcast (or list you as an affiliate). I know the founders (Rusty and Amber), who are cool people, and they will happily advise you on whatever it is you want to know if they have any expertise/guesses/etc.

Oh, and perhaps best of all is that the "300 MB" or whatever monthly disk space allotment refers to new uploads only. In other words, you don't have to delete your old podcasts; they are archived and are available indefinitely at the same permalink address.
My recommendation is to start with libysn and use their hosted site as your homepage. That way you don't have to worry about coding rss. Later on if your show catches on you can always move to your own space.
