What song is this?

Song I heard at a salsa club last night..

The song was in Spanish and had lyrics that went something like: Something, something "no me quieres mas, como me gusta quererte." These lyrics seem to be the hook of the song because they are repeated many times. The song has to be fairly popular because I've heard it several times at several different clubs. Thank you for your help.

Rule one: as much as the MPA would prefer they weren't, all song lyrics *ever* are in Google:

Right here, in this case. Quotes are sometimes necessary.

My first guess was Shakira, La Tortura, although it doesn't have those exact lyrics in it.

Response by poster: Thanks for the effort, but I'm 100% sure that this song is not by Julio Iglesias. This song was salsa.

Response by poster: No, it isn't Shakira either. The artist or artists were male.

When you've heard it before, has it been recorded music, and has it always been the same artist? My experience in salsa clubs is that the bands all play the same songs, so it might be a Julio Iglesias song that's performed by lots of different people. (Or a more traditional song that was once recorded by Iglesias.)

Response by poster: I've always heard it in the salsa clubs and always the same artist. There is a lot of truth in what you're saying about different bands playing similar songs, but I've heard tons of Julio's music, and I cannot see anyone porting something he sang into something like this.

Response by poster: Nope. They came up in all my Google searches too.

Well, I dunno, but both segments of lyrics you posted come up exactly; I'm betting on a cover version.

Why don't you just call/email the club? Maybe they'll ask the DJ? I did that years ago when I kept hearing Joe Arroyo's Rebelion at every salsa club and was desperate to know the name of the song.

Slight hijack, but I've heard a song a couple times at salsa things (not clubs, just gatherings/parties where a lot of the people do salsa) that has a refrain that, at least in part, is 'quaaaaant[a|o]s [something fast].' *Everyone* there seemed to have known it, & out of 20 or 30 songs, was the only one that people really sung along with. Feel free to email answers if you don't want to derail the thread further.

devilsbrigade, is the singer male or female?

I think male.

Response by poster: Located it. Looks like I was a little off on the lyrics, but I'll blame the Grey Goose for that. Oscar D'Leon - Volver a Verte. Thanks for the help everyone.
