I would like a wake-up song or sound file for each day of the week. Wake up, everybody! There's

I have a chronic case of the "morning stupids" -- that is, when my alarm clock goes off, I may not know where I am, what day of the week it is, etc. On weekends, I generally sleep in, but on weekdays I have to get up, because I have to be at work by 8:30-ish. This can be a problem.

In addition to my joyously annoying old-school clock-radio, I have a Treo 650 (PDA phone) + a clock application (Palmary Clock) that can play any sound file as an alarm; it sits in a cradle beside my bed. I want to load it up with weekday-appropriate alarm content.

Option 1: Find (or create) spoken recordings, e.g., "Wake up, slacker! It's Monday and you have to go to work." I can't imagine there are sound files like this out there already, so I would have to create my own or have friends make them (which, admittedly, could be fun!).

Option 2: Find songs that fill the bill, e.g., "Monday Monday" by The Mamas and the Papas ...but, well, I run out of ideas after Monday. This is where you guys come in:

This song isn't day-related in any way, but it's my favorite morning song ever. It's "Natural Anthem" by the Postal Service. I have a friend that calls this song "Breakfast", because he has to listen to it every morning to get his day started. One of my favorites!

Nobody's mentioned the Bangles' "Manic Monday"? Much more high-energy than the Mamas and the Papas' "Monday, Monday" -- I know the Bangles get me up faster.

I also like Irving Berlin's "Oh, How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning," but it's not about a specific day of the week. I usually use it on weekends.

Great suggestions! (and I'm a little embarrassed to have Google links spoon-fed to me, haha)

I think I may set up a collection of several songs for each day of the week AND record some spoken waker-uppers (sounds like a great excuse to meet girls!) and then just rotate between them.

BTW, here's the link for Palmary Clock, but IIRC you also need PocketTunes to play mp3s. No affiliation, yadda-yadda...

Bob Wills (I think) has a great Saturday song. It starts out "Oh, it's Saturday, Yes it's Saturday..." talking about everything this cowboy is going to do to get ready for the big dance that night. He's gonna "shine two shines(?)" and brush his teeth, etc. It makes me really happy every time I hear it, but I don't know enough of the real lyrics to google it for you.

Personally, I can't use music as my alarm. I will only get up to shut it off if it annoys the heck out of me.

I would record a simple sound file that just said "MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY MONDAY..." until I intervened. You know what day it is and it should provide motivation to get it to shut the fuck up.

Also, I require that my alarm be out of my reach, otherwise I just slap it off and keep sleeping.
