Can you recommend any non-Rapidshare music share blogs?

As a musicshare blog addict, I am always on the look-out for new and exciting blogs sharing rare and cool music. Like most people doing this however, I’ve found that most of these blogs use Rapidshare in order to facilitate downloading. Unless you’re a premium subscriber, this means a max of one download every hour and a half or so – and that’s just not good enough! So I’m looking for music share blogs that use something other than Rapidshare, like direct-link MP3 downloads, or turboupload or megaupload or whatever. I’m mainly interested in older, out of print records, preferably psychedelic in nature, but the sky’s the limit really. Two non-Rapidshare faves to give you some idea are De Music Alterque and Brazilian Nuggets.

John at the The Tofu Hut is blogging again. He's always got a wide range of interesting goodies.

I'm a big fan of 3hive, and they have lots of links to other mp3 blogs there. (Not sure if you'll find the type of music you mention, but you can browse by category.) I've discovered several of my favorite artists there.

Do you use a newsreader? If so, I'd be happy to send you an .opml with all my feeds, I have about 25 music blogs in there, and only one uses Rapidshare (but not all of them post songs). If you don't use a newsreader, I'll put two here that shouldn't be missed, Soul Sides (discovered thanks to Metachat), and Captain's Crate. Soul Sides has great links to other sites as well.

Response by poster: tetsuo: I've never used a newsreader that I'm aware of, no. Wouldn't that be what tofuhut is in this context? In any case, thanks. I'm seeing a few things here I hadn't seen before (I'll third Soul Sides, it's exceptionally well-done). Also, feel free to PM me if you don't want your favourite 'secret' blog getting MeFi'd.

I don't think any of these will really meet the genre you're looking for but you said "the sky's the limit" and I guess at least others can benefit if you find the music "unsatisfactory."

Aurgasm
Motel de Moka
The Late Greats
I Guess I'm Floating

I love Honey, where you been so long--a pre-war blues blog with new links pretty much every day.

I hate to say this, but you really should just pony up the ten bucks (depending on exchange) for the Rapidshare membership. It really is worth it, and I can give you thirty blogs that are better for what you want than anything that's been posted yet.

Response by poster: Believe me, I'm sorely tempted. It's really not the money so much as the time - If I did get a premium membership, I'm afraid I'd never stop downloading.
