Question: Free moped parking in Seattle?

Free moped/motorcycle parking downtown Seattle?

I ride a vintage pedal start moped and work in the Columbia Tower downtown Seattle (4th & Columbia). The bike is no larger than a bicycle and smaller in some cases. For the last week the parking garage let me park locked up at the bike racks, but this week they decided to change their minds and give me the boot unless I pay regular car prices. Generally, I just lock up to a bike rack on the sidewalk, but knowing from experience and being next to the Municipal Tower and Police department, it probably won't fly with the city/meter maids. The parking garage across the street charges $5 a day, but that would be $120 a month, which is $120 more than I'm willing to pay. I know there is free motorcycle parking around, I just can't seem to find it.
Anyone know of anyplace, any other suggestions or know a good spot to stash it all day?

Fort now I plan on locking up to a bike rack on the sidewalk a block away, but fear for it's safety exposed to anyone on the street for 8 hours a day.

Finding free parking on south side of downtown is going to be hard, since it's close to the stadiums. Your best bet would be headed east of I-5, along the streets like Yesler.

Where I work in Belltown, I see a consistent half-dozen scooters and cycles that squeeze into the ends of regular parking spaces. I haven't yet seen one of those folks get a ticket yet. The PI had an article recently on parking for mo-peds. According to that article parking your moped on the sidewalk 'could' be a no no, but is unlikely to be enforced.

I checked the metrokc.gov website for you for moped parking regulations and found nothing - sorry. I found a shitload about motorcycles, but nothing about the distinction between the 2.

Is there any chance your work could give you a parking pass for the garage? Then you could use a whole space and give your moped some breathing room.

Where is this place that charges 5 dollars for a day. In the 5th ave building it is 12.

Have you checked the other parking garages like the Key Tower (whatever it is called now) or here in the 5th ave building?
